Mission

Footprints: Transformation and Learning was founded by Gavin Beckett to provide digital leadership, enterprise architecture, transformation and smart cities consulting with a difference.

Gavin is a digital leader and big picture enterprise architect, skilled in leading multi-disciplinary teams designing and delivering technology enabled change. His 20 years experience in local government, culminated in roles as Chief Enterprise Architect and then Chief Digital Officer for Bristol City Council, where he led the creation of the Digital Transformation service, including technology, data and digital strategy; business and technology architecture; solution design; user research, UX and content design; software development, integration and data services.

During 2018, Gavin worked with Paul Maltby, Chief Digital Officer for the Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) to co-create the Local Digital Declaration with the sector, and set up the Local Digital Collaboration Unit and Fund.

Since 2019, Gavin has been part of the leadership team at Placecube, designing and developing an open source digital platform with local government, for local government, through a SaaS subscription, building an open ecosystem of sharing and reuse.
